What’s The Fastest Way To Learn Anything?

It’s actually quite funny how people are always in search of the Holy Grail. That secret formula is that after you follow it in depth you will turn into a super human monster guitar player. What’s a lot more fascinating is the fact that deep down people know it doesn’t exist but instead of admitting to that they continue to searching for the Holy Grail. I have ideas on why we do this and I’d like to talk about a few together with you in this article.

I think the main reason people still try to find the secret formula even though they know it doesn’t exist is due to fear. WHOAA! WHAT?? Stay with me for a second…

Provided that you’re searching for that secret sauce it’s always out there somewhere. Outside of your circle of influence. You can’t do anything about this besides keep on looking. As long as you’re searching you can be disappointed because you might be still looking.

The challenge happens the moment you actually discover a formula. Now you’re not looking any longer. It’s not someplace outside there any longer. It’s now within your reach and you have to do something about it. The actual work starts now. And this is where the fear starts. What if it does not work? What if I try this and I fail? My buddies and family will think I am a failure and I’ll be upset with myself. See where this is going? So rather than actually just doing something about it it really is far better to keep searching and prevent the chance of it not working.

There are good methods after which there’s great methods. Some will get you ok results and others can get you killer results. But stop looking for the Holy Grail. Just find a method and stick with it.

I’d love to encourage you with this. A poor method followed regularly is better than the perfect method BLABLA.

So if you want to learn acoustic guitar just get hold of some decent acoustic guitar lessons and do it now. Day in and day out. You will learn heaps more in the doing phase than you’d ever do in the searching phase. You just need some fundamental chords, a couple of strumming patterns and possibly a few fingerpicking patterns and then go for it. Soon you’ll be playing guitar rather than wasting your time looking for the perfect formula that doesn’t really exist.

Also start today! Someday doesn’t exist and definitely will never come around. There’s a cool saying ‘The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the next best time is now.’ So just get started and you will gain momentum. Once you’re ready to go, carry on going and you’ll reach your goals earlier than you thought achievable. Good luck!
